After-School Painting Made From Scratch with Ms. Leidner is open to students in 3rd - 8th grade who have an interest in exploring centuries-old painting techniques!
After-School Painting Made From Scratch with Ms. Leidner meets Mondays from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m., November 6th - December 11th, 2017.
In this six-part class students will gradually build their own painting from scratch, beginning with wooden frames, canvas and stretched paper, rabbit-skin glue gesso, and egg tempera paint made from real St. Francis chickens eggs. Students will have access to examples of historical and contemporary painters, but will be encouraged to design their own compositions, allowing them a great deal of creative control over the subject matter of their finished painting. At the end of the class, each student will have a unique work of art that has been carefully crafted using centuries-old techniques.
1. What if I need additional childcare after 5:00 p.m.? If you need additional childcare after 5:00 p.m. our Enrichment and Homework Hall programs will be available at a pro-rated rate of $10 per day. These programs are available until 5:30 p.m. Students may ride the Activity Bus for $6 per day. Daily drop-in services like Enrichment, Homework Hall, and the Activity Bus should be communicated and coordinated through your lead teacher.
2. Will there be make-up days if there is a snow day? Typically we don't offer a make-up day to offset a snow day. If there is to be a make-up day, that would be at the sole discretion of Ms. Leinder.
