A month-long celebration to begin the autumn season in Guernsey County. This October celebration kicks off on September 30th with Rock The Block: Scarecrow Crazy, when downtown Cambridge is transformed into a mecca of public art, fall decorations and fun for the whole family. The event is free and offers pumpkin painting, children crafts, live music, extended shopping hours and more from 4-7 pm.
The fun continues all month long when dozens of local merchants, organizations and groups flaunt their creativity by designing and displaying a themed scarecrow at lampposts and on benches along Wheeling Avenue. Explore the displays and select your favorite scarecrow in downtown Cambridge while you enjoy the fall décor and beautiful mums lining the street. Fall merchandise, seasonal food and creative characters will keep you entertained while spending quality time with family and friends.
Expand your search around the county to discover beautiful yard and/or porch displays all month long in neighborhoods, villages and along county roads in Guernsey County. Post your favorite display on social media and snap a selfie along the way.
End the month by making plans to bring the kids downtown on October 28th for the Annual Downtown Merchant’s Munchkin Masquerade trick or treat followed by Trunk or Treat at Cambridge Classic Ford and Trail of Treats at Deerassic Park Educational Center.
