Come join us in celebrating the 26th year of Manatee County's Farm City Week by visiting a few of Manatee County's finest agricultural operations. This is a fun-filled, daylong bus tour.
$50 per person includes tour bus transportation, snacks, lunch, gratuity, and entry into all hosting sites, some which are not typically open to the public. Reservations and advance payment are required. If you have any questions or need assistance, please call Crystal or Martha at (941)722-4524.
Tours this year include, but not necessarily in this order: Wish Farm - G&D Strawberry Farm, Sweet Bay Nursery, Duette Preserve for lunch, Lipman Family Farms, and Heart Groves.
Wish Farms - G&D Farms: Wish Farms has 1500 acres of strawberry production with over 1000 workers.
Sweet Bay Nursery: A premier Florida native plant nursery located in northern Manatee County which specialize in native butterfly and wildlife plants, perennial wildflowers, shrubs, trees, ferns and grasses.
Lipman Family Farms: One of the largest field tomato growers in North America growing sustainable hybird tomatoes meeting the highest standards of quality.
Heart Groves: Founded in 1993, Heart Groves, Inc. is a small organization in the citrus fruit farms industry.
Optimize your experience: Wear boots or tennis shoes and clothing for variable temperatures. Note these are working farms; you may experience wet, uneven and rough terrain. Some items to consider: wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and rain jacket.
Parking: Upon arriving at the Agriculture and Extension Office (1303 17th Street West, Palmetto), please use the barn like gate entrance on the corner of 17th Street & 13th Avenue. Do NOT park at the main office.
There are No Refunds.
Tours will go rain or shine.
Arrive no earlier than 30 minutes before departure time.
No personal vehicles are allowed to follow buses.
Buses will leave promptly at departure times.
