Lucius Cassius Dio
A Greek statesman and historian under the Roman Empire who served as consul but is chiefly remembered for his 80-volume Roman History. His Greek name, formerly often used in English, was simply Dio or Dio Cassius (? ?, Díon Kássios); his exact Latin name is uncertain: it may have contained one or both of the names Claudius and Cocceianus.
