SEPTA abandoned route 50 trolley rails/loop at Rising Sun-Knorr
Add to List Share
Old route 50 trolley rails at Rising Sun Avenue and Knorr Street in Northeast Philadelphia. The rails originally carried trolley route 26 that went all the way to Fox Chase at Oxford Avenue and Rhawn Street. Route 26 was converted from trolley-bus route by National City Lines (owned by GMC). Note the sewage like top lettered PRT which stood for Philadelphia Rapid Transit for the old underground power system. Also note that some of the steel line poles are still in place slowly rusting away.
