Aljira, a Center for Contemporary Art, has been fostering the visuals arts in Newark, New Jersey through exhibits and educational programs for more than 20 years. Aljira Design employs a core group of artists who comfortably cross over between the fine arts and commercial graphic design. The artists get a regular paycheck and provide 40% of Aljiras operating budget; its seen as a model in the art world.
