This is the first recording from Professor John M. DePoe's class at Marywood University, PHIL 303 (History of Modern Philosophy), that took place in Spring 2014 (February 12, 2014). In this class, some of Michel de Montaigne's Apology for Raymond Sebond is discussed, followed by the first part of the study of Rene Descartes's Discourse on Method. A common theme found in both thinkers are skeptical arguments and responses to them.
